[She Was Pretty] Where A Heartbreak Happened.

Namsan Open Air Botanical Garden (남산야외식물원) 258-148 Itaewon 2-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul (서울 용산구 이태원2동 258-148) The Namsan Open Air Botanical Garden is a park along Itaewon 2-dong, just across the famous Grand Hyatt Hotel . It is a famous destination for some soul-searching, couple dates, and family bonding moments. I couldn't not find this one. This Korean drama filming location   meant so much than I would have thought. For in this place, my thoughts were spoken out loud in the Korean drama She Was Pretty. This is where one of the most heartbreaking scenes I have ever watched was filmed. The pool scene was on a different level though. But just as painful. After the pool incident when Kim Hyejin ( Hwang Jungeum) was left alone when everyone went to save her bestfriend from drowning, she went home, drenched, and walked alone this beautiful park. There, she was laughed at by a couple. I teared up watching and understanding the irony of the scene. It was a very heartbr

[She Was Pretty] Choi Siwon is a Badass Motorcyclist along Jamsu Bridge

Jamsu Bridge Seobinggo-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul 서울 용산구 서빙고동 Often overshadowed by the popularity of Banpo Bridge, the Jamsu Bridge completes the double-deck infrastructure which crosses the iconic Han River, connecting Seocho and Yongsan Districts. Please don't get confused. The one with the famous rainbow fountain is the Banpo Bridge. :) Though designed to submerge when the water level rises, it is still a famous Korean drama filming location . That is why it is not a surprise when a scene for She Was Pretty was filmed here. That particular scene shows Choi Siwon of Super Junior (was it really him riding though?)  To be honest, it feels good to know places like this. It feels better that my favorite Korean dramas are shooting in places like this. I mean, when you're given full opportunity to visit a place where your favorite stars had been to without having to pay lofty prices for entrance tickets, then that's something! Jamsu Bridge had always b

[She Was Pretty] It Was a Pretty Place They Chose for their Reunion. Too Bad, She Had to Hide from Him.

second photo from sihoon_bb Daejeon Municipal Art Gallery 155 Dunsandae-ro, Seo-gu, Daejeon 대전 서구 둔산대로 155 In the first episode of the Korean drama She Was Pretty, Kim Hyejin ( Hwang Jungeum ) decided to meet her first love, Ji Sungjoon ( Park Seojun )  only to realize that how she looks like is already far different from how beautiful she was back when they were in middle school. She then decided to hide in the dark and let her friend pretend to be her, just so the love of her life wouldn't get disappointed. This heartbreaking scene happened in the Daejeon Municipal Art Gallery. This Korean drama filming location is a huge and beautifully designed art institution in the province, dedicated to providing its people with moving art pieces. From the blogs I've visited, this apparently houses realistic sculptures of people, showing emotions that would touch your souls even in pictures. As for the Korean drama , there are two reasons why this appeal to me so muc

[Cheer Up!] Sevit High School

Yangji High School 518 Galmae-ro, Sejong Teukbyeoljachi-si (세종특별자치시 갈매로 518) Cheer Up (발칙하게 고고) is a high school life-centered Korean drama which deals with the inequality and pressure each student in Korean high schools go through. While it is not a secret that these things really happen, I still find it extremely unbelievable that people could be so demanding, even when they're parents... especially when they're parents.  This production features Jung Eunji of APink, Cha Hakyeon of VIXX , and Ji Soo . There's also Lee Won Geun and Cha Soobin. :) Anyway, the first Korean drama filming location under this category should be the Sevit High School, the setting of almost 90% of the scenes there. In reality, it is actually the Yangji High School in Sejong City. It's honestly the first time I've heard about this school and this place, and it was amazing that the school is located in quite an isolated place, surrounded by the mountains, although wi

[WGM] Lee Jonghyun - Gong Seungyeon Couple PART 1

Remember when I did the compilation of the YongSeo filming locations for their We Got Married episodes? It was one of the most viral posts I've ever had and it had paved way to more people knowing about this blog. I know I will never be able to surpass the success of that compilation but then again, let's try. And this time, with the brother: Lee Jonghyun with Gong Seungyeon. Several years ago, I thought no one would ever surpass the kind of feels YongSeo had made me go through; but I guess Jonghyun learned from the best that he managed to turn his own WGM episodes into something that could make me squirm in my seat. So without further ado, here's the first part for the Jonghyun/Seungyeon WGM Couple Filming Locations : 1. Sungsin Women's University ADDRESS: 2 Bumon-ro 34da-gil, Seongbuk-gu, Seoul (서울 성북구 보문로34다길 2) The first meeting of Jonghyun and Seungyeon happened in the latter's university. [Orange Marmalade] The Lighthouse Where They Shared the First Kiss

second photo from Munjoolle@Naver Bangdupo Lighthouse Goseong-ri, Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo-si, Jeju (제주특별자치도 서귀포시 성산읍 고성리) One of the most beautiful Korean drama filming locations had always been Jeju Island. An island off the southern coast of Mainland South Korea, it has been recently recognized as one of the New Natural Wonders of the World. Without question, it actually is. The rolling hills covered with green and yellow during spring, and the awe-inspiring vastness of the sea that surrounds the island will surely captivate anyone.  One of the main attractions in Jeju Island is the Bangdupo Lighthouse. Standing tall and proud in an elevated area just beside the cliff, it provides an outstanding view of the ocean and the rest of the island. For many, it is a special lighthouse which lovers often visit because according to locals, it is a place which grants your wishes. This idea was then used in the Korean drama Orange Marmalade . It actually played a huge r

Travel to Korea with Korea Tourism's Latest TVC with Lee Min Ho

It is not a secret that the number of people who travel to Korea lessened due to the MERS-CoV virus incidents. It had even affected the economy, in general, of the country, which became quite a huge blow to the nation. But as much as we all fear the virus that claimed thousands of live from all over the world, I think it doesn't erase the fact that South Korea is a beautiful country. For this reason, I acclaim the Korean Tourism Organization for still coming up with attractive and convincing advertisements promoting the different tourist destinations in South Korea. It was also a wise move to use one of the most influential Hallyu stars today, Lee Min Ho. I believe there's a KTO contest going on right now. If I'm not mistaken, they're asking people to name at least two places Min Ho visited. Well, this might serve as a cheat sheet, but anyway, enjoy! [Sensory Couple] Oppa-Dongsaeng Date at Namsan Tower

SECOND PHOTO FROM HERE Namsan Tower 105 Namsan Park-gil, Yongsan-gu, Seoul (서울 용산구 남산공원길 105) When you're traveling to Korea, there is no way you should miss its highest point and one of the most famous places in the city: N Seoul Tower . More popularly known as Namsan Tower, it is perhaps the most important architectural icon of Seoul and the whole country as well.  Obviously, Namsan Tower is one of the most common Korean drama filming locations. Even movies, music videos and variety shows film here - most of which are date scenes. In Sensory Couple, they brought the oppa-dongsaeng couple of Moo Gak ( Park Yoochun ) and Eun Seol ( Kim Sohyun ) for a platonic date which is totally one of the best scenes for me. It was filmed in the Love Locks, where Koreans and foreigners alike come to lock their love with a padlock and throw the key on the cliff below. They do this with the belief that love will last forever. You see, I first knew of Kim Sohyun through the

[Sensory Couple] Cringe-worth Wedding Proposal Scene at the English Village

English Village 1779 Beomheung-ri, Tanhyeon-myeon, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do ( 경기 파주시 탄현면 법흥리 1779) One of the easiest Korean drama locations to determine is the English Village in Paju, Gyeonggi. That is why when I saw this cringe-worthy scene in Sensory Couple, I just smiled and remember my dream to go there one day. The English Village in Paju-si in Gyeonggi Province is definitely one of the most beautiful tourist attractions in the country. While it is a famous filming location for many Korean dramas, music videos, movies, and more, it actually benefits many locals who wish to familiarize themselves with the English language. Going back to the drama, the particular scene was filmed in front of the Concert Hall Building. If you have watched Miracles of December by EXO , you'll notice that it's the same place. [Sensory Couple] The First Encounter, First Problem Solved!

Dongtan Metapolis Shopping Mall 220 Dongtan Jungang-ro, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi (경기 화성시 동탄중앙로 220) On the first encounter of Mu Gak (Park Yoochun) and Cho Rim (Shin Sekyung), the girl helped in catching the burglar. By following his scent, she located her in a sauna inside the mall. While I'm not entirely sure if the bath house is really inside the building, I'm pretty sure that they really did film in this Korean drama filming location . What is it? The Dongtan Metapolis Shopping Mall. If you think this is totally familiar, then you must have watched the entire drama Master's Sun . This is actually the Kingdom Mall in the drama. :p FOLLOW US FOR MORE UPDATES! IMPORTANT NOTE: This post may not be 100% accurate.

[Sensory Couple] Ability-Testing Scene at I'm Home

It happened in this place: I'm Home. I'm Home is one of the more popular Korean drama filming locations nowadays. It is a brunch cafe, located in the famous Cafe Street in Bundang in Gyeonggi.
