Cafe 시인과바다 1887 Haean-ro, Jumunjib-eup, Gangneung-si, Gangwon-do (강원 강릉시 주문진읍 해안로 1887) This is where Dongwook moved with his mother after letting go of the Ciel Hotel. It was where some scenes of the final episode of Hotel King was filmed. Cafe 시인과바다 is a beachfront cafe. The name Siingwa Bada literally translates to "The Poet and the Sea" and it's kinda appropriate because with the beautiful location of this beautiful place, anyone can really delve into literary glory. In the Korean drama, it was shown that polaroid pictures of the casts were hang on a small clotheslines in the window. If I'm not mistaken, it's still there up to now. Naksan Beach Jeonjin-ri, Ganghyeon-myeon, Yangyang-gun, Gangwon-do (강원 양양군 강현면 전진리) Remember that scene when Ah Mo Ne was trying to convince Loman Lee to invest on her plans? She brought him to a beach and there, she discussed her plans for the hotel; and for a moment, we were made to believe that he was really serious about his investments. LOL. And this was the place. Although it seems quite different in the scene, it is the Naksan Beach in Gangwon-do. Many people, even foreigners, come here to swim. It's one of the cleanest and most famous beaches in the province after all. The Korean drama sure did a good decision in using this as a filming site. To be honest, I think this is also where they filmed that scene when Jaewan (Dongwook) was sitting on the rocks, thinking, after he was fired by Chairman Baek. After this is the steamy make out (sex?) scenes so it's kinda difficult to forget about this place. HAHA The main clue is that ship perched on the cliff. Well, that's not a monument. That's actually a hotel in Gangwon which has an land cruise theme. It's named the Sun Cruise Resort and it's a really nice hotel. I've reviewed it once for my previous work so I'm kinda positive about it. I just don't know if it is actually where the make out scene happened though. LOL This hotel in Korea basically has 211 rooms, function rooms, sky lounge, dining venues and recreational spots including night club, karaoke and a sea water pool. Nice, right? In front of Intercontinental Alpensia Hotel 325 Solbong-ro, Daegwanyeong-myeon, Pyeongchang-gu, Gangwon-do (강원 평창군 대관령면 솔봉로 325) The lovely garden of Ah Mo Ne actually exists in front of the Intercontinental Alpensia Hotel. Troon Estate Country Club 439 Yongsan-ri, Daegwanyeong-myeon, Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do (강원 평창군 대관령면 용산리 439) I really can't believe I found this. This is exactly where they shoot the house scenes for Hotel King. It's like the official residence of the staffs of Ciel, and with the beauty shown in the Korean drama, it's easy to say I've been smitten by it the first time! <3 Troon Estate Country Club is located close to Alpensia Resort , the main hotel shooting location for the drama. Jumun-ri, Jumunjin-eup, Gangneung-si, Gangwon-do (강원 강릉시 주문진읍 주문리) Remember Eun Songjae? That young boy who worked as a janitor at Ciel Hotel who was actually an ex-convict who accidentally killed a classmate who was bullying him in middle school? Yeah, yeah, that same child who attempted to set the hotel's kitchen on fire if not for Ah Mone? So this is where his house was. The place in the picture is where Cha Jaewan parked his car. It's easy to find since the scene actually showed an address written on a piece of paper. Heh. :) Jumun-ri is a coastal area, and it's a beautiful place. Houses, like that of Songjae, are perched on hilltops. To be honest, I wish to visit coastal areas like this when I finally go to South Korea. Since the beginning, I have found places like this a completely relaxing destination. Well, watching people ride their bike along the road while taking in the fresh sea breeze... I thought the drama was just making it up, but it is actually a place where you can bury your time capsules. Hotel King relation first! This is where Mone stayed waiting for Jaewan on her birthday. After here, they went to the Ciel Pension Okay. When I first heard of the park's name, I immediately thought of My Sassy Girl. I remember the scene of Cha Taehyun and Jeon Jihyun when they planted a time capsule under a tree. Surprisingly, THIS IS APPARENTLY THE SAME PLACE! LOL At first I couldn't believe that the place had turned into this but when I realized that it has been 13 years since the film was released... Meh.. What am I surprised about? Geez. second photo from Haslla Pension Official Site Haslla Pension 150-1 Geumjin-ri, Ogye-myeon, Gangneung-si, Gangwon-do (강원도 강릉시 옥계면 금진리 150-1) Before everything actually fucked up for Jaewan and Mone, they spent a night at the CIEL Pension. In the drama, it was said that the owner of the pension house was a former staff of Mone's father and grandfather and was thereby permitted to use the name of the hotel. It's a cute place, perfect for a quick getaway for couples, tbh. There is really a bench overlooking the ocean. If I'm not mistaken, Jaehwan used the Flower Room. ^^ The pension is perched on a mountain top in Gangneung-si so it's difficult getting the directions. Nonetheless, I am quite positive that this is the same place where Cha Jaewan (Lee Dongwook) brought the VIP guest Song Chae Kyung (Wang Jihye) after she hid from her bodyguards. This is also where Sun Woohyun (Im Seulong) brought Ah Mone (Lee Dahae) after he saw her crying in front of her father's remains. All those differences, let's just blame it to time differences. :)) So yeah, it's one of the lighthouses in South Korea, and mind you, there are so many. Intercontinental Alpensia 325 Sulbong-ro, Daegwanyeong-myeon, Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do (강원 평창군 대관령면 솔봉로 325) I'm moving on from my Emergency Couple addiction by watching Hotel King! Yes, guys! I need to watch this drama because how long has it been since My Girl? LOL The Lee Dahae/Lee Dongwook tandem used to be my most favorite back in the days. Though they make me feel somewhat old, I'll watch this Korean drama ! So to start with, I decided to locate the hotel they're filming in. It's the Intercontinental Alpensia in Pyeongchang County in Gangwon Province. It's actually quite tricky because I think they're using two hotels in the place.
