Yakhyeon Cathedral
27 Jungnyim-no, Jung-gu, Seoul
(서울 중구 중림로 27)
I cannot describe how popular the Yakhyeon Cathedral is among Korean dramas. For many wedding scenes, it is usually the setting. I'm pretty sure many people living in the area are always excited to know who among the top Korean actors today they will be seeing in action. LOL
Well, I don't think I can blame anyone for always choosing this cathedral. It's smaller than usual but it does exude that solemn charm that adds to the romantic vibe of the place. To be honest, I want to attribute the atmosphere to the color of its interior and the fact that it sits atop an elevated area, which I believe is a hill.
Among the top dramas in Korea which filmed in the place are Prime Minister & I and Emergency Couple.

But as for getting there, here's my two cents:
MAIN GATE (Shortcut)
First, find your way to Chungjeongro Station of Line 2 (Green Line). Then get off via Exit 4.
Upon getting out, you'll see a street to your right so turn there.
walk straight until you get to the other street. NOTE: It's a narrow street and might be a little uncomfortable for foreigners because it's quite dark in there and not so clean. If I'm not mistaken, it's because it's a market place. So you take the risk or you use the long way to get to the main gate.
The cathedral's entrance is on the right of the market.
BACK GATE
First, get to the Chungjeongro Station of Line 2 (Green Line). Then get off via Exit 5.
You have to walk a few blocks (straight towards the direction you're facing) to get to Yakhyeon Cathedral. Stop until you see the police station.
There is an uphill street directly across the station so cross the street towards that. At the end, before you turn right is the cathedral's back door (I think).
Actually, taking the bus is a better option. Buses #7011, 7013A, 7013B and 7017 apparently stops nearest to the market and cathedral. However, I'm not entirely learned about the bus system in Seoul so I don't want to risk it. :(
Taking a taxi would be the best option. Haha. :)
