EXO at New SM Entertainment Building

New SM Entertainment
Seollung-ro 190-gil, Chungdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul
(서울특별시 강남구 청담동 선릉로190길 )

As far as I can remember, they have been using this building since the beginning of the year.
I am just not sure though if it goes beyond that.
Nevertheless, yeah, here's another building for SME where EXO is now commonly seen.
It is quite easy to locate and definitely just a few steps away from Yeonsei Riverville

It's a pretty long walk but I think it's gonna be worth it if you really want to explore this part of Chungdam-dong. I mean, there are quite a number of shooting locations in the area which you may want to visit.

hye...my name is hana and i am from asian country, malaysia. i would like to ask a few question on the sm audition. first of all, i am getting 20 years old this october 2014 so basically, i am 19 years old now. is there any chances of me get into the sm and became the trainee. its not that i am going through the audition this year as i am going to prepare myself. so i really think that maybe either next or next two years i will try to send the audition video to sm. so i will be around 22 or 23 years old. so is there any chances on me to get into sm?
next, i am trying hard to sing because i really love it but, the problem is i don't have basic learning on vocal classes and how to cover my pitching. i am really afraid if i might make mistakes and will be rejected by sm. i really want to become a dancer but i just can do a little steps of dancing and i am not a dancing machine like others. i do knew my level and not really great like few of people. i just like to inform that i had represented my school during my high school into a national level of my country in acting a drama. we luckily got into fourth place and get second place in the second time. so, what am i supposed to do and choose to do before auditioning at sm?
i am now studying in university and will be finishing my diploma in accountancy in one and half year.so is there any chances on me getting into the sm after that? is that i will be attending another school time there? i am knowledgeable but not expert in english and not fluently speaker. but, i do pass all of english test in school time and university. i am learning how to write in korean languange and will work hard for it.
last but not least, i am 164 cm of height and 63 kg of weight so i do pass my BMI test with normal result. i am not fat but i do have wider shoulder as i am playing hockey and few of sports in high school and university. the problem is, i do not have fair skin as i am playing sports and live in asian country with hot weather. i am also kind of boyish style with short hair like amber and little of feminine style so i do not wear girl clothes for a time being. will that be an issue for the judges on choosing me?
i really hope that i will receive an answer from sm with high hope. thank you for your consideration sir.

I really do hope that you achieve your dream. I am not in any way related to SM Entertainment so I don't know how I can help.

SM only accepts koreans and chinese, or if you look like one. This can be seen by the global auditions they hold in US, Canada, etc where they only accept korean-looking people. I think you can achieve your dream of becoming a performer someday but SM is not the way. I'm sorry but this is the reality.

is there is no chances that you can suggest to me such as by the performance made rather than appearance ?? is that mean that there will be NO CHANCES at all for malaysian people to be in sm?? how about indonesian that can be into that?? can i go an do the audition in indonesia??

How old are you? Please don't take offense on what I'm going to say.

SME is a very, very picky company. My years of being a stan have convinced me of that. No one can tell you if there is a chance or whatever unless you come face to face with their scouts. But is it that easy? NO.

Since you want to get into SME, you should already know that the company idols are known for two things: VISUAL and IMMENSE TALENT. (I'm not being biased, should there be non-SM fans reading this; I'm merely stating the truth.) If you have both, then go fly to Korea and audition. If you have just one, then maybe they can consider. If you've got none, develop yourself first and then try again.

I am not saying you don't have the looks nor the talent. I don't even know you. But you see, the other anon was right when he said SME tends to accept only Korean and Chinese people, or at least those who look like them. I'm basing this claim on history since I have never seen SM idols who aren't of Korean or Chinese descent.

It was recently announced that they'll be holding global auditions in Jakarta on Feb. 23. If you are confident enough, then go. But I really really suggest that you polish your English beforehand (I don't mean to sound rude) because you need to at least be fluent in one global language.

I just noticed that in your profile picture, you have a headcloth on... Being a K-pop star you are not going to be able to wear that. Not even during your trainee days. You are also going to have to be extremely skinny,(NOT SAYING YOURE FAT BECAUSE YOU LOOK VERY THIN), preferably as tall as possible, sing and/or rap really good, be able to dance and learn long choreoghraphed dances, have as light skin as possible, look somewhat oriental(meaning Korean, Japanese, Chinese or a very light Thai) and also preferably be outgoing and have a talent for variety. And these are just the basics. If you want to get into SM wich is one of "the big three" the demands will be even harder, and every year tens of thousands of people from canada, the us, china, japan, singapore, thailand and especially Korea audition (and thats only for SM! Imagine the people who audition to all the companys). I don't know if you've seen the video of that girl who filmed her experience auditioning for SM in Korea, but dear god it was intense! There was enough girls and boys there to fill an arena, and from all ages too. And even if you were to get in as a trainee and get past the audition, not all trainees get to debut. Some work really hard for five or even ten years, only to never debut and just end up with a big debt to the company who trained them. Also, most rookie kpop groups these days are getting younger and younger. Seing as your already 19, you are about to pass the age when most idols debut, and your not even a trainee yet. Unless you have imense talent, some companies might feel put off by that.
I'm not saying to give up on your dream, but you have to realise that this will be EXTREMELY hard. But given, it's not like GG woke up one morning and had the looks and the talent. They've all worked hard to get to their debut, and so could you. You do have little advantage on your side though...

I i just can say one thing...it is funny to say it is impossible without any effort.if you really try you'll be accepted.even if they do not accept you.never give up on your dream if you are really into music.beacuse music is not something that most of people think these days.im a musician.i say my own lyrics and play.i know that you should mix your emotions, soul and heart together to feel a real music.just keep trying

Manager Hyung said…
Either you get scouted or you pass the auditions :)
Manager Hyung said…
Hmm. You can check their main site. Maybe they've got an email address there :)
Unknown said…
Thanks... then can I send gifts like birthday cards to Exo members?
Unknown said…
Thanks and I will train harder
Manager Hyung said…
I think you can? Many friends told me that SME does accept gifts, but whether it reaches the artists, we don't know. The best thing is to really come to them and try your luck and give it to them personally ^^
Anonymous said…
Hmm. Hey! Please someone tell me, if SME does checking over heights and weights?
Anonymous said…
Is SME checking heights and weights too?
Manager Hyung said…
I think they are? But I guess it's not really that much of a factor in accepting you. I think they'd have to see potential initially, and then if they like you, they'll work you into an entirely different person they want you to be. lol.

i've seen several artists who started with a bit of weight. and then sme will make them go through severe diet. hehe. as for height, well, there's always insoles and heels, i think this does not really matter that much.

sm ent has 2 buildings? are they using both buildings?
Manager Hyung said…
Hi Agnes!

Yes, SME has two buildings. Well actually, I honestly think there are more.
The one is along the Apgujeong hi-way. The other is the one in this post.
I think they're not using the one along the hi-way as of now because as far as i know, it's undergoing renovations.

this post will answer your curiousity: http://auditionadviceandthoughts.blogspot.com/2012/08/basic-audition-q.html

i wonder why you said you are preparing yourself for next 2 years, you already 20.. why not starts now?(if you still want it) if u cant get it, maybe u can show them your improvement in your next audition tape.

ps: parkbom auditioned for YG thrice (once a year) if im not mistaken, and she show them her improvement every year in the audition until they find her good enough to be their trainee.

Manager Hyung said…
Hi Karen..

I have no means of knowing where they are at the moment. Luhan is in China though for the filming of Back to 20. The others, I have no idea. Maybe, practicing for the next concert or lazing off in their dormitory. Sasaeng fans would know that, and I'm not. I'm sorry.

wahat is youngest artist can be ????
Anonymous said…
what the youngest artist in SME can be ??
Manager Hyung said…
Anon, apparently, the last two questions are yours.

First, Tao got into SME after passing the global auditions in Qingdao.

Next, I HAVE NO IDEA how young an SME trainee can be but judging from Seo Joohyun before and the SM Rookies, maybe as young as 14 can audition and train? Or if you're asking who's the youngest artist, I have to say it's the kids from SM rookies.

It is my pleasure to write this message. My name is Desmond Koo, I am 20 years old, male and I'm about to reach age 21 next year. The truth is I am not from the local. Basically I'm from Malaysia. I'm a Chinese. My height is 183cm and my weight is between 72-75kg. My skin is kinda white which I can compare to girls.
I'm not really sure if I'm a good looking person to you guys but i do look like a korean guy .That is not the talent you're searching for. To be honest I got none experience on acting . Regardless about dancing or singing I never try before in my life, not even once. Sometimes I do have the motivation on it but I beg for this chance, i will train hard. I am definitely willing to sacrifices my own time and I will work hard to reach the goal. If I even break one of the rules you may do at you please. But I won't do anything about sexuality.
Please let me know, I will be lost if I don't pick this role. My future depends on it. If you're done reading, just let me know. I will be flying over to Korea and apply the interview if you were ask me too.

Hi Desmond!

It's also a pleasure to receive this kind of message but I'm afraid you sent it to the wrong person.

If you've been reading the comments above yours, you would know that I had made it clear that I am IN NO WAY CONNECTED to SM Entertainment. I am a mere blogger that goes by the name Manager Hyung and I'm just a simple fan from the Philippines.

You said you'll be lost if you don't get this role. You said your future depends on it. And I wish I could be of help to you, and to all others who had been constantly visiting my site thinking that I can help them.

But as this message had reached me, let me give you an unsolicited advice. This is your dream, and there's nothing wrong with pursuing it. However, please don't feel that you'll be lost if you don't get it. Don't let your future depend on uncertainty. I encourage you to do whatever it takes to reach for the star you're aiming for, but always... ALWAYS prepare a plan B and plan C.

Good luck with your adventure!

What is Wrong with Secretary Kim Filming Locations [IMAGE HEAVY!]

I know I have promised to ID Korean drama filming locations of another Korean drama but I just can't help it with this one. Entitled What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, it is a story of Lee Yongjun ( Park Seojun ), the egoistical and very self-centered vice chairman of the Yunmyung Group, and his secretary, Kim Miso ( Park Minyoung ). So the vice chairman had been very, very dependent on his secretary so when she decided to resign, it took him by surprise and all hell breaks loose. LOL The drama casted KPOP idols Kim Yewon (Jewelry) and Hwang Chansung (2PM) too and I think they're doing good in their current field. <3 I can't help but laugh everytime I see Chansung on my screen. Watch the drama to know why. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. The whole story was apparently based on a manga and it's a must to watch this one. It has a light story, and will definitely make you wonder at some points. So it got me hooked easily. And when I get hooked, the locations should b

Putting Lee Jongsuk, Park Haejin and Kang Sora in one drama seems like a fatal thing to me. I love all of them!!! So yeah, I'll be ID-ing Doctor Stranger seriously now. And we'll start with this hospital. As said, it's the International St. Mary's Hospital in Incheon. In the drama, it's named as the Myeongwoo Hospital where Haejin and Sora works. It's quite a big facility considering that it has a housing facility for the residents (Maris Stella) and a mall with an indoor golf course (Wellbeing Mall) within its complex. Amazing, right? I knew all those because of their website. LOL. Visit it here . There's an English feature. FOLLOW US FOR MORE UPDATES! IMPORTANT NOTE: This post may not be 100% accurate.
